So is it better to get a bachelors degree in economics or a bachelors degree in philosophy?

First there is no prescribed undergraduate degree for law school. Second, and unfortunately, law schools do not take into consideration - at least in my opinion - the rigor of the undergraduate degree to the extent they should. A 3.3 in Engineering is MUCH harder than a 3.3 in English, but it seems as if they are nearly "stricly by the numbers". That being said, Philosophy would probably allow for an easier curriculum and better chances of admission on the basis of GPA. However, Econ would clearly provide more career opportunities in the absence of law school, and if you did get admitted, would pave a path for corporate law whereas Philosophy likely would not.
Your faced with somewhat of a tradeoff here, but my advice is to pursue the Econ. The more difficult coursework may also help you out in the way of the LSAT as well, which is the other main admissions component.What is a better bachelors degree for law school?
Economics is more useful than philosophy in these modern times.
