What kind of situation is this when people insults/tease on some things but in your mind, it is you?

I have been dealing with this for about 1 year now. and it is my sister-in-law, She's like insulting me but not really in front of me, she insults/tease on dogs, other people, things something like that but in your mind it is directed to you, Its kind a weird to have this kind of problem, but this kind situation is what I'm dealing with it right now. like everyday. Even though its indirect but I focus in it and I really knew that it is me that is being insulted. Sometimes I fight back the same way, but it doesn't work.

If she is a good sister in law you should be able to talk to her and let her know that it seems kind of passive aggressive what she is doing and you feel it is directed toward you. Tell her that it has taken an affect on you and you can not deal with it anymore. Ask her to become aware of what she is doing if she is not and to please try to stop. Communication is key and she is obviously not a good one if she has to send you signals through indirect ways.What kind of situation is this when people insults/tease on some things but in your mind, it is you?
If it is indeed directed to you, people call in an "indirect insult"

I think you should tell her slowly and nicely about that. Well, there are people who doesn't know what they're doing, maybe she didn't really mean to do those things
